2001-10-15, Pre-Production finished
Finally we started shooting and so I think it's time to close this chapter of pre-production reports. All news about the production and our shootings will be posted on the Production page.

2001-10-08, First shooting date, Eike Hein left team
Good news! After all the pre-production work, we're now going to shoot first shots of the movie on friday (2001-10-14) on one of our locations in the forest! It'll be a very important part of an action scene that includes also some small stunts. Till now everything seems to go the right way and we are really looking forward to start shooting.
I have to report some bad news, too. It's about our CGI design. Well, if there are problems, there have to be concequences... so Eike 'Sho' Hein left our team for he was not able to do what he was expected to do. But this will not affect the movie. We've always had a plan b when thinking about CGI in "Plan B", and of course it's always important that no single person can cause a project like this to die.

2001-09-26, Sketches and storyboards
Here are three of the things I wanted to post. The first picture is a scan of the storyboard, the second one is a sketch for camera positions.

The following picture is a screen capture of an early sketch for an other camera tracking sequence. I created this one late at night on my HPC (Handheld PC) while in Croatia.

2001-09-25, Back again, news and problems
I returned from the south after two weeks in Croatia and two weeks in Rome, Italy. Now I've got some things I want to present to you. I'll post it tomorrow.
So, small storyboards (to give myself a better view over some things) of the main scene are finished, I prepared camera positions (and dolly tracking) and wrote detailed scripts of what to do on the (bluebox) set. Philipp Mende has joined the cast, too.
We've got some heavy problems with our CGI design, so I'll post facts and first previews of it later. I can't say anything about it at the moment.

2001-08-24, Cast and crew, holidays diary
We've got our cast! It will be Christoph Wolff (protagonist of "Fight!") and Kerstin Riess (seen in many SR Films before). I think this it's the best decision, because it's the team as we know it and I'm very happy to shoot with these people.
Part of the Crew will also be Alexander and Oliver Schmidt again, as co-producers and operators of our second camera (we'll use more than one camera to get better pictures). Check out the Cast and Crew page for a little overview with some small pictures. Below I posted the pictures of Christoph and Kerstin.

Now I will be away from Germany for two weeks and I will not be able to do any updates on the website. But I am going to continue writing the 'production diary' on my mobile device, so I can post it when I am back. Then I'll present you first previews of the CGI artwork and some scans of our storyboard, too.

2001-08-22, Sketches and ideas
Today I present you two little sketches I made some time ago. First picture is about camera positions shooting a scene with the protagonist and his girlfriend. The second one needs some explaining: everytime in bed, trying to sleep and something new comes to my mind, I stand up, go to my desc and write it down. For I'm often really tired at those moments, i write very fast and the results aren't very nice, but they are useful.
The third picture is out of our latest movie, "Fight!". But as a very small part (just a few seconds) of "Plan B" will play inside a forest, too, I want to post this picture. It's a kind of location-preview, because I think it'll be the same forest we are going to shoot this short scene in.

2001-08-20, Time and plans
Here are some information about what will be happening the next days: Till the end of the week cast and crew will be fixed, I hope. All of the "Fight!" Actors are interested in the project, so I'll have to ask if someone wants to get the biggest part in the movie - the one of the protagonist. I'll also do final work on screenplay and shot-listings as I try to make all the important notes you have to do before shooting.
Then I am going to leave Germany for 2 weeks on Friday and during this time I'll begin storyboarding. Our CGI artist Eike 'Sho' Hein will work on the project as soon as he's back from vacation, so he'll be able to present his work to the crew after my return.

2001-08-19, Studio report
Now, three month later, the website is finally online... now I can do this kind of 'production diary'. Here I'll post important things that are related to pre-production. So we visited a TV Studio three days ago and we made some pictures. Here you can take a look at where a part of our movie will be shot. (Klick on the pictures to view larger versions.)

2001-05-29, Let's go...
Finally, I began to work on the movie. I wrote the main idea down, made some deal with a CGI designer (more to come!) some weeks ago and I'm going to start screenwriting today.
